2008/2009 Alpine Juniors & Snowdrifters Program Information
Our Policies
WEATHER & TRIP INFORMATION |
- Full payment for your program is due November 10, 2008 or 45 days before the first trip (whichever is later).
- Program payments should be sent to the office for proper credit.
- If full payment is not received twenty days before your first trip you will be assessed a $30.00 late fee, and you may not be allowed on the bus. In addition, 1.5% interest will be charged on all unpaid balances starting on the date of your first trip.
- If your check is returned unpaid by the bank we will have to charge you $20.00.
- Any changes to your program must be requested in writing and received in our office via fax, mail or in person. E-mail requests will not be accepted. Changes to your program made within 21 days of the start date are charged a $25 change fee.
|
| PAY AS YOU GO MEMBERS |
- Your daily fee includes your lift ticket and will be collected on the bus by your host. If you are a senior, the fee will be the actual discounted senior lift ticket price for that resort.
- All Pay-As-You-Go members have a reserved space for each trip of the program for which they are registered. You do not need to call the office to let us know when you are attending.
|
| MAKE UP TRIPS |
- When a trip is postponed it will be made up on the designated date posted on the original schedule. We normally experience one to three postponements in a season.
- There is no make up trip available if you miss a trip. However, if you notify the office in advance it may be possible to attend a trip on a different day if there is space. A transportation fee of $25 will be charged (plus the Pay-As-You-Go fee if applicable). You may transfer or sell your seat to someone else if you are unable to attend. The person taking your seat will be required to complete a medical/liability release form.
- No credits or refunds are given for missed trips, lessons, or any unused portion of a trip.
- If you are unable to find someone to use your seat, you can notify the office and we may be able to sell it for you. Unsold program seats (if any) are sold before members' seats.
|
GUEST POLICIES |
- Guests are always welcome on a space-available basis. Call the office (916) 737-7669 to make a reservation.
A medical and liability release form must be completed for each guest. Forms are available on the bus, by mail from the office, or on our website www.alpineadventuresonline.com
- While it is best to make a reservation, we occasionally are able to take "stand by" guests on a space available basis at the last pick up location for each bus. Call for details.
|
SKI EQUIPMENT, CLOTHING, AND RENTALS |
- Since so many skis, boots and poles look alike please mark all your equipment. This also helps us get your equipment back to you if it is left behind.
- Use ski bags or straps to keep your skis and poles together on the bus.
- The bus companies do not allow the wearing of ski boots on the bus unless "Cat Tracks" are attached to the soles. Boots may be stored inside the bus for the trip up, but should be stored in the baggage compartment on the return trip.
- Be prepared to ski in all weather conditions and dress appropriately. Use the equipment list as a guide.
- If you plan to rent, do so at one of our recommended shops here in town. This will save you time and the hassle of waiting in line at the ski resort.
- We maintain a lost and found so if you lose something, call us.

WEATHER & TRIP INFORMATION |
- Beginning at 6 PM Tuesday evening, and continuing through the morning of the trip, there will be a message on our information line (916) 456-0263 extension #9 . This recording will tell you the trip destination, number, the expected weather and the status of the trip, as to whether is going or not. If a trip is postponed it will affect the original schedule. Keep track of when your trip is scheduled!
- It is imporrtant you call before each trip, regardless of the weather, to check for any last minute changes, including bus departure time changes!
- During changeable weather conditions the final "go/no go" decision may not be made until 3 AM. A trip can be postponed at any time, but once a trip is announced to be postponed, the decision will not be changed.
- Every effort is made to ensure that the "right" decision of whether a trip should go or not is made. Your safety and enjoyment are most important. Be aware that trips will go when it is snowing or chains are required. Some of the best conditions occur during inclement weather. Also keep in mind that weather in the Sierra is quite changeable and occasionally takes a turn for the worse. Unless it becomes unsafe, once a trip is committed, we continue to the resort.
- Members who are properly dressed can have a great day in even in the worst of conditions. If you have not skied in snowy weather, go with the hosts. They will show you how to enjoy the beauty and exhilaration of skiing in fresh snow.
- During inclement weather, chain control and traffic can delay our arrival and/or return home from 45 minutes to 2.5 hours. This can shorten the time at the resort.
