Alpendorf, Austrian Alps and Portugal

(Portugal is optional)
March 6-14/27, 2020

Join Alpine Adventures for fantastic skiing in the exciting Austrian Alps. We'll be based in Alpendorf where you'll find the interconnected slopes of Snow Space Salzburg - Flachau, Wagrain, and St. Johann-Alpendorf (home to champion ski racer Hermann Maier) right out the front door of our hotel. You also have access to the vast Ski Amadé region, one of the largest lift pass areas in Europe with 25 ski areas, 270 lifts and 760 km of slopes!

While the Alps are famous for some of the best advanced and expert skiing in the world, they also stand out for the best skiing for intermediate to advanced skiers wanting resorts where the blue, and red slopes are fun, long, and perfectly groomed. Every skier will appreciate the modern (and ultra modern) lifts.

Flachau, Wagrain, and St. Johann-Alpendorf make up an especially fine area for the person new to skiing the Alps. It lets you explore and enjoy all the scenic beauty of the "big tall pointy mountains" so typical of the Alps, while actually skiing on beautifully groomed runs that travel through those same "big tall pointy mountains."

We are staying at the beautiful spa hotel Zinnkrügl in the village of Alpendorf just 90 km. from Salzburg. A popular skiing destination for decades, Alpendorf offers skiers a small alpine village experience while conveniently giving you a ski in and (almost) ski out location. Within a short walk you'll be on the lifts and skiing the over a 120 km of perfectly groomed blue and red slopes or challenging on and off piste terrain.

It's not all about the skiing! The region offers miles of cross-country skiing trails, ski touring and winter hiking. In addition, you'll find ice-skating, sleigh rides, sledding trails, or relax with a wonderful afternoon spa. In the nearby town of St. Johann you can enjoy shopping for everything from handmade lederhosen (just what you were looking for!) and traditional costume to regional specialties, and of course, chocolates.

This fabulous trip is designed for all levels of skiers, novice to expert. Whatever you pleasure; fun cruisers, challenging blacks, or off-piste adventure, Austria has it all!

Experience Portugal!

After a week of sensational skiing, you can head home to tell stories of your fantastic adventure, or continue the adventure with our optional post-trip to explore the fascinating cities of Lisbon and Porto and the beautiful island of Säo Miguel in the Azores.
